Multi-Disciplinary Team

Meet Our Multidisciplinary Team

At Bright Futures, our assessments are delivered through a collaborative multidisciplinary team (MDT) approach. Our experienced professionals bring together a wide range of clinical knowledge and expertise to ensure assessments are comprehensive, evidence-based, and tailored to each individual’s needs.

We believe that understanding neurodevelopmental differences requires looking at the whole person — including communication, emotional wellbeing, sensory needs, learning profile, behaviour, relationships, and everyday functioning. Our MDT approach allows us to provide a holistic and balanced understanding of each individual’s strengths and difficulties.

Our Team Includes:

Specialist Nurses

Our specialist neurodevelopmental nurses have extensive experience in child and adult mental health, developmental assessment, emotional wellbeing, and family support. They play a key role in gathering developmental history, understanding day-to-day functioning, and supporting individuals throughout the assessment process.

Social Workers

Our social workers bring valuable insight into family dynamics, safeguarding, emotional well-being, social communication, and the impact of neurodevelopmental differences on daily life, education, relationships, and independence.

Occupational Therapists

Our occupational therapists assess sensory processing, daily living skills, emotional regulation, motor coordination, routines, and functional independence. They help identify practical strategies to support individuals both at home and in educational or workplace settings.

Speech and Language Therapists

Our speech and language therapists specialise in communication differences, social interaction, language development, pragmatic language skills, and sensory communication profiles. Their expertise is particularly valuable in autism assessments and understanding social communication needs.

Psychologists

Our psychologists contribute specialist expertise in cognitive functioning, emotional well-being, behavioural presentation, neurodevelopmental profiles, and differential diagnosis. They help ensure assessments consider the wider psychological picture as well as neurodevelopmental needs.

Psychiatrists

Our psychiatrists provide medical oversight and expertise in neurodevelopmental conditions, mental health, co-occurring presentations, medication considerations, and diagnostic formulation. Their involvement supports safe, robust, and comprehensive assessment pathways.

Review

I just wanted to thank you, for all the support you have given me and my family over the last few months. A has been struggling so much with her emotional wellbeing and school attendance. As a family we were worried and felt a little lost. Siobhan, you have listened and validated my feelings, I have felt comfortable enough to be open up and be honest with you. As a family we felt a little anxious about A going through an autism assessment,  you answered our questions, and explained the process really well. We felt very supported throughout and although the assessment was emotionally tough at times for both me and my daughter, we felt comfortable and listened to. When it came to A's assessment, A was anxious, you soon made her feel at ease, by explaining what autism was, and making the assessment engaging and as fun as you could to make her feel safe. Following A’s diagnosis, we have continued to feel supported and thank you for all your kindness and understanding in what has been a difficult time.
